BMW shows surfer scrambler concept. BMW Concept Path 22 - Concept Scrambler. The commercial success of sales and image shown by Ducati Scrambler made competing brands move. Thus, BMW presents the Concept Path 22, a scrambler motorcycle prototype derived from the BMW R ninet (read our review). The scrambler of the German company should be presented already in 2016.
A preview of the new Scrambler Bavarian brand was presented at the Wheels & Waves Festival of Biarritz, France, an exclusive event that mixes custom motorcycles, modern art and surf. In fact, surfing theme is very present in the BMW Concept Path 22. The name 'Path 22' refers to one of the best areas to surf in Europe, on the Atlantic coast of southern France. The artist Ornamental Conifer was responsible for giving her special touch to the motorcycle.
The BMW Concept Path 22 is an "excuse" to anticipate how will be the future Scrambler brand, which will be equipped with the same engine boxer 1,200 air-cooled, the cardan transmission and minimalist look. The Öhlins front fork has fewer course, the tires are for mixed use, the front wheel is larger and the dual exhaust outlet is the Akrapovic.
The instrumentation and controls in MotoGadget handles also draw attention in the prototype, as well as aluminum five-spoke wheels created by BMW Motorrad and brown leather seat design.
