The very awaited Giulia sedan has just been introduced in another new concessions already held spellbound "Alfisti": the Stelvio. This is the name of the future SUV Milan, named after the famous collar of the Italian Alps. In full reconstruction, hoping to recover as quickly the way of commercial success, Alfa Romeo invests first category. Transalpine manufacturer is not starting from zero so far. The future rival of Audi Q5 and BMW X3 builds on the technical base called Giorgio, released by the famous Giulia millennium. In addition to the chains of the Cassino plant in Italy, the SUV and sedan share many elements, starting with engines and transmissions.
This machine, unique in the Alfa range, is expected to achieve most of its sales in Europe, versions 2.0 turbo petrol and diesel 2.2 JTDM, the power can be well over 200 hp. As is already the case on Giulia, both 4-cylinder blocks are compatible with the automatic 8-speed transmission and the full Q4. The arrival of proposals two-wheel drive (propulsion), equipped with less powerful engines, is also expected. On top of the range, the Stelvio inherit the V6 2.9 biturbo sedan, mechanical flirting with the 500 hp, similar to that of the Maserati Ghibli.
Like most premium SUV, whose cousin to Trident, the Levante unveiled in Geneva, the e crossover Alfa will be keen to attract North American customers. Logically, it will be officially unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November next, before hitting the road in spring 2017. Its base price is expected to be around € 36,000.
