With the arrival of a whole new cast of supercars, the Audi R8 managed to keep the exchange updated and configured as one of the most desired still sports today. However, the new generation is close, both coo we could meet at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. It would be in March, just a few weeks, when we knew the second generation of the Audi R8, at least I would have confirmed Ulrich Hackenberg, head of development at Audi, in a statement to CarAdvice. In any case, the details are still too scarce.
We can only wait and assume is that premiere platform to significantly reduce weight. Thus you gain in performance and efficiency. Moreover, it appears we welcome finally an Audi R8 e-tron fully electric.
Of the latter, Audi felt that their technology was not yet developed enough to offer it. So we worked on it to significantly increase autonomy, key point in these vehicles. It could exceed 400 miles on a single charge, minimum figure for Audi.
On the other hand, it could continue to provide a mechanical range with an alternative access and a more powerful version, perhaps keeping the V10 that is showing now but updated. What is not in doubt is that continue to rely on the quattro and the new automatic S-Tronic dual clutch.
Its design is still unknown, but some inspiration shuffled in Nanuk Concept Audi introduced the brand in 2013. For now we keep this information in the hope that Audi is available to provide more details to finally present in society, as we say, at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
